Project management, general contracting, and sub‑contracting across all four.
Discuss a projectHunter Specialty Contracting works across all four. We've led underground utility work at the executive level, managed branch operations for a commercial window and door company working up and down the East Coast, and built a residential kitchen and bath business from the ground up. Every job is scoped and priced by people who've done the work.
Most work arrives in one of these shapes. If yours doesn't fit neatly into one, say so on the call and we'll sort out which it is.
You have the trades lined up, or you want us to line them up. Either way, one person owns the schedule, the budget, and the phone call when something goes sideways. Owners, investors, engineers, inspectors, and subs all talk to the same place.
We take the job start to finish: scope, permits, crew, materials, and the punch list, under one contract with one point of accountability. No gaps between trades for a problem to hide in.
We work under other general contractors and construction managers. We show up with our own crew and equipment, hit the dates on the schedule, and stay clear of the trades working around us.
Hunter Specialty Contracting was founded by Abe Hunter. Based in Massachusetts and serving New England, the company is built on nearly fifteen years of construction and critical infrastructure experience. Abe holds an unrestricted Massachusetts Construction Supervisor License, and the company is a registered Home Improvement Contractor.
Originally from the Mid-Atlantic, Abe came to Boston to earn his B.S. in Construction Management from Wentworth Institute of Technology. From there he moved up through project engineering, project management, and operations into executive leadership, working on projects nationally and throughout the region. Along the way he learned how jobs are won, built, and managed at every level. In 2023 he settled in Massachusetts for good and founded Hunter Specialty Contracting to put that experience to work.
Those years were spent managing projects from the top: coordinating owners, engineers, subs, and trades, and keeping everyone moving when things got complicated. At Hunter Specialty, Abe brings that same management experience to every job, and now he's on site doing the work too.
The crew on a Hunter Specialty job is a core group, not a rotating cast pulled together project by project. Every member is safety certified, knows the work, and treats the owner's property and time with respect. That consistency is a big part of why jobs run clean and the schedule holds.
